Türkiye's effective and qualified representation in the international arena is of great significance for our country, which is resolutely advancing towards its 2023 goals. With its humanitarian, moral, conscientious attitudes and policies put forth under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye has shown the whole world that it stands with peace.
Türkiye, which is making great efforts to make peace and stability prevail in its region, needs to convey its just cause to the international public in an accurate and consistent manner. In this context, it is of utmost importance to ensure the unity of discourse in translation in all sectors, particularly in the public sector, and to ensure that the expressions are used correctly.
The Directorate of Communications has assumed the mission of developing an integrated communication strategy at the national and international level, with a focus on a common language comprehension that encompasses all institutions of our State. To this end, our Directorate has undertaken various initiatives in order to create a common language in translation, ensure the unity of discourse and accelerate the translation processes in the public sector. The "Workshop on Translation in the Public Sector" organized with the participation of leading academics of translation science, administrators and employees of relevant public institutions has been the first important step taken in this direction. Following the organization of this workshop, our Directorate has coordinated the process for the creation of the "Term Bank for Public Institutions in Türkiye" in cooperation with relevant public institutions.
While presenting this work, pioneered by Directorate of Communications and prepared with the broad participation of public institutions, I firmly believe that it will make significant contributions to the unity of discourse, which has become an imperative need in the field of translation in the public sector. On this occasion, I would like to thank all the academicians who contributed to the preparation of this valuable work, the representatives of stakeholder public institutions and organisations and my colleagues for their valuable contributions.
